Lesson Plans -

As a parent, you are you're childs first and foremost teacher. Your child will learn many important lessons from you as they grow into adulthood, starting from those first precious milestones.

Guiding and teaching our children is not always easy. Sometimes, as parents we disagree with the examples being set forth for our children in school, entertainment, and the world around us in general. Often times important life lessons are skipped in the hustle and bustle of life, only to have to be learned later in a more difficult way.

There are many tools at your disposal to educate, raise, and grow happy children into functional well mannered adults. Some parents choose public school as a tool to help them educate their children, while other parents might opt for private or home school methods. No matter what approach you take to your childs education it is important to remember that you are their first and primary teacher on being a good person, minding their manners, and how to take care of themselves as adults.

Are your children preparing for adulthood? Or are they wasting their fleeting youthful days on mindless activities that don't promote growth in any form? If you answered 'yes' to either of these questions then the following pages are for you. This is a collection of lesson plans ranging on all sorts of subject matter from academics to life morals to good manners. These lessons can be used with all children, and cover many age ranges. I have 2 children in public school, 1 in specialized school, and 1 homeschooling. I use these lesson plans with all my children as a supplement to their routine educations, and intend to use as routine education for my homeschooling child(she's only 2 right now). Every child is unique, and so is there education. I don't belive there is a 1-fits-all method of education, it always ends up as 1-fits-most and several children are left to fall through the cracks and fail. I believe all parents have the right to pursue the tools they see fit for their children's education, and I would never bash a parents choice.

That being said, many of my experiences with my children in public school were less than pleasant and I love to teach my children at home. I have found that my children enjoy sitting around and having group discussions, learning together, and a super special favorite is performing home-made science experiments. We have practiced these values with our children since they were small, and encouraged and grew their love for these things. But sometimes even the most attentative child gets bored of the conversation and needs to do some tangible work so you can guage their understanding of the subject matter. I used to try to do a playtime between discussion and worksheets, but I have since found my kids like to jump head first into the worksheet while it's still fresh in their minds.

For my children that currently remain in public school I supplement their education with lesson plans at home as well. I'm a very creative hands-on parent, so I quickly began taking to constructing my own lesson plans for the school children, and to be used again with the youngest which is being entirely homeschooled.

Most of my lesson plans will be available here in the future for free use to any and all parents. Enjoy, and if you use it online, please link back to our site.
