"Hand"-Made Valentine's Cards

Have your child trace their hand on construction paper and draw a heart on another piece. After they have finished, help them cut out both shapes. Fold the middle fingers down to form the "ILY" sign, and glue the heart to the 2 folded fingers so that the hand is holding the heart. Child can now write a greeting on the palm under the heart, and on top of the heart!

Valentine's Gardening Project

This is a super simple one you probably remember from your childhood. Simply get some white carnations, and fill several cups with colored water, in valentine's day colors. Cut the stems and insert into cups. Have your child draw sketches of the flower in their science journal over the next few days as it changes color! This experiment can also be done using celery instead of carnations.
